School Canopy Required to Enhance Outdoor Space for Rugeley School

Based in the market town of Rugeley, The Hart School is a secondary education facility with more than 1000 pupils. With a vision of “We Can, We Will, We Do”, the school promotes positive experiences for all, which is further enhanced by its position as part of the Creative Academy Trust.

Since its formation in 2016, because of a merger between Hagley Park Academy and Fair Oak Academy, the school has worked to upgrade both of its sites to meet the needs of modern academic requirements.

What Was the Request?

Having already installed a dining canopy, The Hart School were fans of the versatility that they can add to school spaces. The school decided that installing another canopy was the best solution in need of a more covered area outside of a busy classroom block.

The space the canopy required was different from a traditional flat wall, meaning that a bespoke solution was needed. Luckily for The Hart School, we specialise in these architectural challenges at Kensington Systems.

The Solution? A Lux Canopy for this Staffordshire School

The Spaceshade Lux dining canopy was selected to provide more covered space for the school. The weather-resistant solution has blended seamlessly into the existing structure and is suitable for dining, increasing capacity, and outdoor teaching.

A snugly-fitting canopy was designed to suit the space perfectly. As you can see from the project images, the structure has added plenty of usable space without needing to rebuild any existing walls. This provided a cost-effective solution entirely bespoke for the school's needs.

This option was chosen as it also featured modern aesthetics with built-in downpipes and gutters. Assisting the school in their mission to modernise the environment, this long-lasting canopy has added contemporary flair to this vibrant school.

The project included complete design and installation plus repairs to the existing flagstones once the work was completed. Providing a sleek finish, we ensured that the site was left safe and suitable for students to use immediately so that the new canopy could be enjoyed.
