The school wanted to create a flexible [outdoor learning area](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/outdoor-learning-playground-canopies). The space needed to feel open in good weather but still provide shelter when conditions changed. The goal was to make the area usable all year round for learning, play and social activities. ![Hacton Primary - Playground Canopy Installation](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(2).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(2).jpg) ## The Outdoor Canopy Solution [Kensington Systems](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/about-us) provided a solution using retractable external blinds. The blinds fit neatly into the canopy design and maintain their clean, modern appearance. They can be operated by a wall switch, remote control or app, making them simple and convenient for staff to use. ![Hacton Primary - Playground Canopy Structure](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(3).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(3).jpg) When the blinds are not needed, they roll up neatly out of sight. When lowered fully or partially, they provide protection from wind and rain while still keeping the space bright and welcoming. ![Hacton Primary - Playground Canopy (4)](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(4).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=Hacton%20Primary%20-%20Playground%20Canopy%20(4).jpg) Large crystal-clear window panels allow natural light into the area and give children clear visibility outside. The finished result is a comfortable and practical outdoor space that pupils can enjoy throughout the year. ### Find out more Spaceshade canopies come with a 25-year guarantee and require very little maintenance to stay looking good, year after year.
