Wickwar Out of School Club provides childcare before and after school hours for local children who attend Alexander Hosea Primary School in Wickwar, Gloucestershire. They wanted a playground shelter to allow children to play outside regardless of weather conditions. The outdoor shelter had to be enclosed to provide weather protection, and last a long time.
The school chose a Spaceshade® aluminium frame with hard-wearing cedar cladding to provide weather protection. To ensure the inside of the shelter was not dark, half walls were installed on two sides and weatherproof retractable blinds were installed with clear panels to provide visibility. The blinds are operated by crank handle to ensure only adults can use them, and stop rain from entering the shelter.
The Club’s investment in its facilities demonstrates its dedication to providing a fun experience and outdoor learning and play opportunities for its children.
