Revamping Outdoor Learning: Great Hollands Primary School Case Study

Posted by Admin

As part of the refurb of Great Hollands Primary School in Bracknell, the aim was to significantly increase the quantity and quality of outdoor learning and play space

The architect, The Bush Consultancy (now part of Ryder Architecture) chose Kensington Systems Spaceshade® canopies for their modern design, large spans and safety features such as built in gutters and downpipes, concealed fixings and a certified non-fragile roof.

The new playground canopies help to modernise the existing school building and create significantly more outdoor learning and covered play space for teachers to use during lesson time and children to enjoy during playtime.

Tom Partridge, director at the Bush Consultancy (now Ryder Architecture) said:

'I’d like to thank Kensington for the prompt and professional service we experienced during the recent canopy install at Great Hollands Primary School; your team delivered this project on time and to a highly satisfactory standard.

The SpaceShade canopy systems look fabulous and have been a great addition to both the new and existing parts of the building, creating some excellent outdoor learning areas and covered play space.

I would have no hesitation in using your School canopies again on future projects or indeed recommending you where the opportunity arises.'
