Raglan School in Enfield, North London, faced a challenge with their outdoor spaces. Their existing playground canopies were no longer fit for purpose, as their overly high design allowed rain to enter, rendering them ineffective as a source of shelter. The school urgently needed a solution to provide better-covered areas for outdoor dining, learning, and play while maximizing the usability of their outdoor spaces.
They contacted us to help them address these issues, and replace the old playground canopies with new Spaceshade canopies. With their improved design, the new canopies have transformed the playground into a functional space suitable for outdoor learning, play, and dining, making it a valuable extension of the school's facilities. And with features including built-in drainage and a non-fragile roof, the school has peace of mind knowing the structure is safe for young children to use.
In addition, a new Spaceshade canopy was installed at the front of the school, creating a dedicated outdoor dining area. This addition has enabled Raglan School to expand its dining capacity while promoting outdoor activities, even during rainy weather.
Raglan School now enjoys practical and versatile outdoor spaces that meet their needs and improve the overall experience for students and staff. They also have the ability to install solar panels on the canopy in the future to increase their renewable energy generation.
