An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ School, Kingswinford Academy is a decided to install a large outdoor dining canopy over the summer break. The installation included astro turf laid underneath, creating a great all-year, all-weather dining space.
The main canopy was connected to the existing building with a smaller walkway cantilevered over the top (see image). The school opted for a modern anthracite grey colour which works well with the existing buildings.
The new canopy allows the school to relieve pressure on indoor dining facilities and create an extra recreational space for students to use at lunchtimes.
