Exeter City Football Club recently partnered with Kensington Systems to create a vibrant, weatherproof fan zone outside their onsite bar – a space where supporters can gather before and after matches in comfort, no matter the season.
Kensington Systems delivered a bespoke bright red aluminium canopy, tailored to match the club’s iconic colours and designed to enhance fan experience and drive engagement.
Project Features
Robust and long-lasting, our Spaceshade canopy solution provided the club with a perfect year-round outdoor space for fans to use. At the request of the club, we built in several features to enhance usability and comfort, including:
- LED Lighting - integrated into the rafters, LED lighting strips provide ambient lighting for evening and winter use.
- Infrared heaters - to ensure comfort in winter months.
- Built-in tables - we added small wooden tables wrapped around the central posts, providing an ideal space for fans to put their drinks
- Concealed Gutters & Drainage - for a sleek, modern finish and effective water management.
What difference has the Fan Zone Canopy made?
The new fan zone has transformed a previously underused area into a lively, functional space. Year-round weather protection encourages fans to arrive earlier and stay longer to enjoy the matchday atmosphere, while demonstrating Exeter City's commitment to improving fan experience.
