Easy to access and keep clean, the new solar array will save the school thousands of pounds in electricity bills every year, freeing up money to spend in other areas.  In addition, the renewable energy generated by the new solar canopy will reduce the school's carbon footprint by around three tonnes, contributing towards Creative Academy Trust's Net Zero goals. The school now has a new playground canopy providing over 108m² of covered space, which can be used for outdoor learning and play as well as providing a source of electricity. In cases where a rooftop solar installation is not possible, [a solar canopy](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/solar-panel-canopies) offers a viable alternative, providing schools a way to further reduce energy costs and become more self-sufficient.  ![Spaceshade solar panel school canopy](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%202.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%202.1.webp) ![Kensington Systems solar panel school canopy](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%201.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%201.1.webp) ![Spaceshade solar panel school canopy](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%2011.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%2011.1.webp) ![Underside of solar canopy for schools](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%203.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%203.1.webp) ![School canopy with solar panels](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%204.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%204.1.webp) ![Installation of solar panels on school canopy](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%2010.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%2010.1.webp) ![Kensington Systems solar panels canopies for schools](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%209.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%209.1.webp) ![Underside of solar panel playground canopy](https://26880358.fs1.hubspotusercontent-eu1.net/hub/26880358/hubfs/Image%2012.1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=Image%2012.1.webp) Kensington System's Spaceshade® canopies are designed to accommodate the necessary loadings for solar canopies while maintaining structural integrity.
