People love to hang out with their friends at sports clubs in the café and bar after a workout, swim or playing sports.

However, many clubs are frustrated by the lack of space available to offer food to their customers and put on social events which can provide a real boost in extra revenue.

A relatively inexpensive way of providing extra space and increase income is to install a [dining canopy](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/) to bring the outside in.

By installing heating and lighting, customers can use the space all year round, protected from the rain and cold.

Best, of all, canopies can be installed at a fraction of the cost of an extension with minimal disruption to customers and need minimal maintenance.

## Increase your offering while boosting your coffers

A new dining room or an extension to an existing dining room means your club can offer a wider range of hot and cold food to your customers and therefore increase revenue.

The comfortable ambience of our [canopies](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/) help to encourage customers to stay longer at the club and spend even more money.

## Canopies for canapés

In the same way, providing a canopied area, whether it’s an [extra dining area or a covered area](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/) means a club can start to generate extra income through private hires.

Depending on the space, the club can hire the area out for themed discos, weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties and quizzes, attracting more and more members.

In addition, the club can use the space for fundraising among its customers for new equipment or classes, helping to provide community engagement and reinforce its status as a central hub of the local community.

## Charging higher prices and attracting more customers

A huge benefit to having extra space to provide private hires is that sports clubs are able to charge higher bar prices for private functions which brings in extra income for the club.

Another big bonus for sports clubs is that by having an extra room or space for functions, they’re able to attract more customers organically through their own fund-raising events as well as private hires.

## Become your own energy company

The great advantage of our Spaceshade® canopies is we can fit [solar panels](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/solar-panel-canopies) onto the canopy at the time of construction.

However, they can also be [retrofitted easily](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/solar-panel-canopies) if it is something your club is thinking about in the future.

Solar panels will help you save money on energy bills, reduce the amount of carbon emissions and potentially bring in extra revenue if you sell excess electricity to the national grid.

## Canopies for tricky spaces

[Spaceshade®’s](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/) innovative modular design means our canopies are ideal for tight and difficult to access spaces like courtyards, putting ‘dead’ space to use.

Our modern sleek-looking canopies can be open to the elements, or closed with side panels made from polycarbonate, glass or solid panels allowing you to use the space all year round.

## Our other Spaceshade® canopies

We provide [spectator canopies](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/) to football clubs so that fans can enjoy the game whatever the weather.

Also, we provide [entrance canopies](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/entrance-canopies) to different sports clubs, giving the entrance a welcoming and modern look as well as keeping customers dry and [walkway canopies](https://kensingtonsystems.co.uk/spaceshade/covered-walkway-canopies) to keep customers dry as they go from one building to another.
