Warden Park Secondary School first partnered with Kensington Systems several years ago to improve their outdoor dining provision, installing two SpaceMax dining canopies to create covered areas for pupils to eat and socialise during breaks and lunchtimes.
The success of these initial installations led the school to return to Kensington Systems when additional covered space was required. This time, the brief was to create a more enclosed, all-season environment that could be comfortably used throughout the year.
Kensington Systems designed and installed a third SpaceMax dining canopy, building on the proven performance of the earlier structures while introducing enhanced comfort features.
The new canopy incorporates glazed walls to provide increased shelter from wind and rain without compromising natural light or visibility. Integrated heating and lighting were also included, transforming the space into a warm, welcoming environment during colder months and darker winter lunchtimes.
The result is a flexible, weather-protected area that supports both dining and social interaction, helping pupils make better use of outdoor space whatever the conditions.
The additional SpaceMax canopy has significantly increased the school’s usable dining capacity and improved the overall lunchtime experience for students. By creating a sheltered, well-lit and heated space, the school has encouraged pupils to spend more time outdoors in comfort, reducing pressure on internal dining areas while supporting wellbeing and social connection.
The fact that Warden Park Secondary School returned to Kensington Systems for a third installation reflects their confidence in both the product quality and the service delivered.
